Arazzi Contemporanei
A digital gallery that connects art, design, culture and technology.
Ideated by Alberto Fiorenzi, Arazzi Contemporanei is a project in a form of a digital art gallery that offers a free space for experimentation and innovation where artists and designers are invited to create their own pieces of tapestry using innovative, technical and sustainable textile fibres. In 2021 I’ve been asked to design and develop the gallery website that integrates an e-commerce for the art gallery, a bookstore and an editorial space to narrate the project.
I took care of the whole project in each phases, from research to design and development. The website interface uses a grid as a constant visual element that recall the idea of the loom while a green line runs across the screen as a digital fiber that connects disciplines. The nature of this project is intrinsically hybrid, while the website is a platform to communicate and promote the project, a selection of tapestries have took part of itinerant exhibitions in Milan and Rome bringing the gallery out of its digital dimension.
